Commissioner Tezira Jamwa has asked the Kenyan government to disarm Pokot pastoralists in the West Pokot district.

By Rashid Muzungyo KAPCHORWA Resident District Commissioner Tezira Jamwa has asked the Kenyan government to disarm Pokot pastoralists in the West Pokot district.
Jamwa complained that the pastoralists were using guns to disrupt peace and security in neighbouring communities along the Uganda-Kenya border.
She was addressing local councillors, elders, chiefs, religious leaders and government extension staff from west Pokot and Kapchorwa district at a border meeting held at Riwo School in Kapchorwa.
She called for a plan for peaceful disarmament of the Pokot. Ends
