THE executive director of Kapkwata Sawmills, a major furniture dealer in Kampala, has been named before the URA probe commission for alleged tax evasion and threatening a URA informant with death.

Shalom Muwanguzi, a witness who testified yesterday before the commission chaired by Justice Julia Ssebutinde, said Jasphal Fhagudah pointed a gun at him and threatened to kill him for reporting forgeries carried out at his workshop to the Revenue Protection Unit.

The commission heard that Kapkwata operations manager William Edwards forged the logbook of a Mercedes Benz ML270 Auto Estate, manufactured in 1999, to appear as having been manufactured in 1996, to evade taxes.
