UTODA were given a taste of their own medicine in a 4-0 Kakungulu Cup rout by six time winners SC Villa.
The taxi men, had earlier walloped COWADISA 5-1, barely had a sniff at Villa’s goal and were thoroughly out finessed.
Ismail Kigozi, Ekuchu Kasongo, Phillip Obwiny and an own goal ensured a 10th cup final appearance for Villa.
Strikers Kigozi and Kasongo converted Obwiny’s corners in the 14th and 32nd minutes respectively. Obwiny, called the shots with a superb display and eventually added his name to the score sheet just after recess.
Under pressure UTODA defender Philip Kabali turned in Geoffrey Kateregga’s cross for the fourth goal after 52 minutes.
By now, it had become a one-way traffic with Villa making spontaneous raids at goal but fluffing as many chances.
Villa are now one win away from an unprecedented sixth double.
Micho Sredjovich’s side that have already tasted glory in the league, play the winner of today’s semi final between cup holders Express and Police.
While Express start as favourites, Police’s credentials cannot be doubted. They are the only team to date to have beaten Villa this season. “Anything is possible in a knock out tournament and thankfully I have no injury worries,” said Police coach Paul Hasule.
Prolific Police marksman, Geoffrey Sserunkuma comes face to face with the 2002 league top scorer Hassan Mubiru. Mubiru was the hero in last year’s final scoring twice against Villa. But the presence of the temperamental if not talented Andrew Mukasa could have a say in the outcome.
