An elderly newspaper vendor operating along William Street last Monday amused passers-by when she slapped a man.
It all began when a smartly-dressed man emerged from City House and picked up a copy of The New Vision as though he was going to buy it.
Unfortunately, as he was opening the cover page, he accidentally tore it near the top. He quickly returned it, looked around and walked away.
As soon as the lady saw the torn newspaper, she chased after the man. When she caught up with him, she demanded that he buy the very paper he had torn.
A short-lived scuffle ensued and the elderly paper-vendor slapped the man in the back. He then walked away, embarrassed. Ends
