Kisoro Asks For Tarmac Road

KISORO district LC5 chairman Philemon Mateke recently told the minister of Health, Jim Muhwezi, that residents had waited too long for the promised tarmac road, reports Charles Opolot.
“Kisoro district is a gateway to Rwanda and Congo. We need a tarmac road,” Mateke said.
Muhwezi, who was chief guest at the recent ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a district hospital, said the Government was aware of the needs of the people of Kisoro.
“as far as this road is concerned, everything possible is being done to have it tarmarcked,” Muhwezi said.
Dr. James Nsaba Buturo, the Bufumbira East MP, described Kisoro as a strategic district in terms of security, tourism and unexploited minerals. Ends
