PRIME minister Prof. Apolo Nsibambi and the Speaker of Parliament, Edward Ssekandi, in a rare move on Sunday evening enchanted residents of Bulange 1 zone when they attended a village meeting, reports Fred Kyobe.

Prof. Nsibambi lives adjacent to where the village meeting was held.

The time-conscious premier walked from his home to the venue of the meeting escorted by his guards arriving before the meeting began.

Casually dressed in a brown checked jacket with matching trousers and a walking stick, Nsibambi took a seat next to the LC1 Chairman, Kawagga Mugerwa and the vice-chairperson Mary Zake.

Later, Ssekandi, who was passing by joined the meeting when he saw Nsibambi.

Addressing residents, Nsibambi stressed the importance of attending village meetings, saying development issues were discussed there. He regretted that most people only attended meetings when they had problems.
