FANS of defending champions SC Villa will now not have to wait until next month to see their club start defending the title they have won for five consecutive seasons.
According to a revised fixture released by National Football League Committee (NFLC), Villa will start their campaign to a record 15th title with an away match against new entrants Akol at Akii Bua stadium December 29.
“We pushed Villa’s match to an earlier date after Uganda pulled out of the All Africa Games qualifiers in Egypt,” NFLC secretary Justus Mugisha told the weekly Nile Special Super League press conference at Lugogo yesterday.
Mugisha also announced that NFLC had at last decided to reconsider their position on not postponing the Express and KCC matches because some of their players were taking part in the East African Inter-University games in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
“We had to reconsider because tertiary institutions are affiliates of FUFA with two delegates in the general assembly,” said Mugisha.

The refixed matches:
December 27 Police v Buikwe
December 28 Simba v Express
December 29 Akol v Villa
March 8 Akol v KCC
