KAYUNGA — The LC5 chairman, Steven Dagada, has hailed the Government for the rapid development programmes in the district. He said the Government had built schools under the School Facilitation Grant and tarmacked major roads. Dagada was opening a classroom block at Kangulumira Muslim Primary school.

Wembley nets
MASAKA — Operation Wembley agents recently impounded three lorries suspected to be carrying stolen cows. The second-in-command of the operation, Lt. Moses Sserunkuuma, said thieves were now using guns to rob cattle from kraals at night. They also impounded over 60 cows

Masaka mob burns youth
MASAKA — An angry mob over the weekend burnt a teenage boy to death, accusing him of defiling a four-year-old girl. Joseph Kalungi, 17, of Kaija in Bukoto East, was burnt at about 2:30pm. The LC1 secretary for information, Mary Nakabugo, was also beaten up as she tried to save Kalungi.
