Eleven enter Caltex Havoline rally

BY DOUGLAS MAZUNEGIOVANNI ‘Italiano’ Storchi, Ismail Lule and Dipu Ruparelia yesterday entered the Caltex Havoline Rally, bringing the number of drivers in the event due this weekend to 11.Storchi in a Lancia Intergrale, Crane Bank-sponsored Dipu (Mitsubishi Evo4) and Lule (Subaru Imprezza) joined pre-event favourite Moses Lumala (Toyota Celica ST185) who entered first.The trio will be among the front runners in opening round of 2002 National Rally Championship (NRC) series.Abed Lubambula, Arthur Blick, Godfrey Katende, Fred Kizito, Nadim Lalani, Dipu Hayer and Arthur Blick are also in the race that will be run on a new format.The United Motor Sport Club (UMOSPOC) organised rally will this time round start with three sections in Mpigi on Saturday morning before the super special stage at Lubiri circuit in the afternoon.The second leg will cover areas in Mukono and Lugazi on Sunday.The rally sponsored by Caltex Oil (Uganda) is expected to attract over 15 entrants.Registration is still going on at Caltex Wandegeya service station.
