By Emmy Allio MILITIA from the Lendu ethnic group in northeastern Congo on Sunday killed about 30 people including three Ugandans, in an ambush on a convoy of vehicles on Bunia-Mongwalo Road, sources said yesterday. The Lendu militias who are clashing over land with ethnic Hema are reported to have set ablaze four vehicles. Some of the dead have deep panga cuts. Uganda Security sources said the dead are not UPDF soldiers. But sources within the RCD-K rebel group that controls the region, said at least three Ugandans were killed. The leadership row within the RCD-K rebel group is said to be a cause for the continued fighting in the region. Sources said the Lendu believe that the UPDF are backing Mbusa Nyamwisi. On Sunday, Roger Lumbala, leader of the little known RCD-Nationale force, captured the diamond-mining towns of Bafwasende and Bufwaboli from RCD-K. Ends
