BAMAKO- Africa’s Footballer of the Year will be unveiled at a ceremony in Johannesburg on April 16, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Thursday.
BAMAKO- Africa’s Footballer of the Year will be unveiled at a ceremony in Johannesburg on April 16, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Thursday.There are three candidates for the 2001 award, which has been delayed for the first time in order to be incorporated into the CAF’s new annual awards ceremony.Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffour, who won the Champions League and the Bundesliga title with his club Bayern Munich, is the favourite, ahead of strikers El Hadj Ousseynou Diouf of Senegal and Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o. A total of 14 awards will be handed out. Senegal’s have been nominated for the Team of the Year award.ends
