“If you were a Garden of Eden, I would live in you forever. If you were a beautiful red rose, I would daily enjoy that wonderful scent of romance, faithfulness and true love,†was the love message that won Derek Muhwezi a designer perfume offered as third prize by The New Vision to the writers of the Valentine messages this season.
Lillian Nalumansi reports that Muhwezi gave the perfume as a special gift to Doris Muhwezi, who returned from Addis Ababa yesterday. The perfume was offered by Wina Classic.
“The name of this perfume suits this occasion and the flowery scent fits well with Muhwezi’s Garden of Eden analogy to his wife. It was a very beautiful message and I know Doris will be very happy,†Antony Ogalo, Wina Classic sales and marketing manager said, at The New Vision’s Marketing offices on Nkrumah Road where the five lucky winners collected their prizes.
“I retrieved this message from one of the old poems I had written to her when she was still my fiancee in 1992. I find it very easy to write love poems and I guess this is why I was among the winners,†Muhwezi, a lecturer at Makerere University’s Urban Planning Department, said. He also won last year’s New Vision grand prize, a coloured television.
Other winners were Mukasa Ssozi who wrote a Luganda message, galton Fenzi Natasha, a business woman at Uganda House and Doreen Achan from Naalya Estates.
