JUNIOR middleweight boxing sensation Kassim “The Dream” Ouma ranking is expected to rise when WBC issues its latest ratings next month.

By Phillip Corry and agenciesJUNIOR middleweight boxing sensation Kassim “The Dream” Ouma ranking is expected to rise when WBC issues its latest ratings next month.Ouma, who is rated number 16 by the world boxing body improved his record to 15 wins one loss one draw and 10 KOs with a unanimous victory over veteran southpaw Michael Lerma at the sold out Arts Palace in Philadelphia on Friday. In a 10-round battle of southpaws, Ouma, 154, of West Palm Beach, FL, dominated Lerma, 153, of Waco, TX, over the distance to win the fight scored by judges at 98-90 (two), 97-91. The baby-faced Ouma floored Lerma (24-7-1, 18 KO’s) twice in the first two rounds, courtesy of his powerful left jab, and it looked like it would be an early night for the Ugandan fighter.But Lerma rose though and fought on outworking Ouma almost into submission in the 4th and 5th rounds. The 23-year old Uganda however recovered to out-point the American at his own game. Ouma was not the only one counting the numbers on his card Another Ugandan James “The African Express” Lubwama registered a knockout over Jameel Wilson in a super middle weight six rounder on the same bill.ends
