SOS for Tororo teachers

SIR—Tororo secondary school teachers have never received their January salaries! What happened? The District Education Officer and Chief Administrative Officer have their own versions about the missing salaries. Recent reports again indicate that there is no February salary for secondary school teachers in Tororo. Why punish these impoverished teachers? Why only Tororo out of all the districts in Uganda? What crime have we committed? The authorities concerned should note that the Tororo secondary school teachers last got pay a few days to Christmas. Is the ministry of Education aware of our plight? Were our salaries released and if they were what do district authorities have to say about it? Name withheld on request
