The World Health Organisation wishes to recruit two experienced senior health professionals to assist with a field study of draft diagnosis and treatment guidelines for adolescents and adults.

Clinical Guidelines ResearchersThe World Health Organisation wishes to recruit two experienced senior health professionals to assist with a field study of draft diagnosis and treatment guidelines for adolescents and adults. The researchers will be part of a team from WHO, the Ministry of Health, Nkosi and Buruli (Masindi) Health Sub-district (HSD) that will field test diagnosis and treatment guidelines. Specific duties will be:1. Collect baseline data on health service utilisation, common diseases, referral patterns and health facility operations.2. Assist the HSD core teams to train and follow up health workers to use the draft guidelines3. Support the sub-district teams and health centre staff who will implement the guidelines4. Collect data for the monitoring of care given using the guidelines, including diagnosis, treatment, referral, follow-up care etc.5. Contribute to the analysis and report preparation, incorporating field data, to be provided to the Ministry of Health and WHO in Uganda and Geneva6. Perform other tasks as assigned by the senior consultant.Requirements1. Essential:- A qualification as a medical doctor, clinical officer or registered nurse- At least two years of treating patients in health centres- Training and experience of practice with the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) guidelines- Good communication, team working and recording skills.2. Preferable:- Training and/or good experience in public health- Training and/or good experience of data collection/ field research- Training and experience as an IMCI trainer/facilitator- Experience of supervision and in-service training of nursesRemuneration and conditions:- According to the WHO scale applicable to qualification and experience.- Duration, six months in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal of contract.- Station - at least 50 percent of the time will be spent in the sub-district and the remainder at WHO Kampala.- Should indicate earliest date available to start work.Applications giving three referees should be sent to the WHO Representative, P.O.
