Train new RDCs, says Rutaroh

Rukungiri LC5 chairman Anthanasius Rutaroh has asked the Government to train inexperienced RDCs to reduce clashes between them and local governments.

By Darious Magara Rukungiri LC5 chairman Anthanasius Rutaroh has asked the Government to train inexperienced RDCs to reduce clashes between them and local governments.He said laws governing them were ambiguous causing them to err, as many of them did not know the areas of their jurisdiction. “Our RDCs are operating under an ambiguous law which should be amended. No wonder many clash with the local council leaders,” Rutaroh said.He was featuring on Voice of Kigezi FM in Kabale on Sunday.He said many of the RDCs are not qualified “since they are not senior civil servants, a requirement of the law.”Rutaroh, who is also the President of the Uganda Local Government Authorities Association, took time to explain their roles and achievements.He said their mistake was to involve in politics.
