MAURICE Sunguti has finally agreed to sign a new three-year contract at Villa Park.

By Fred KaweesiMAURICE Sunguti has finally agreed to sign a new three-year contract at Villa Park.The Kenyan international striker will in a fortnight’s time hold talks with Villa for a revised salary package.“I have made up my mind and my new three-year contract at Villa is a tribute to coach Micho (Sredojevich) for the faith he has put in me despite my recent struggles to score,” he said. With the new contract Sunguti is virtually committing his future to the Nile Special Super League champions. All indications are that Sunguti will put pen to paper within a fortnight and has no qualms about it.“I am very happy with the way things are handled at the club and this should enable me settle down since we arguably have the best tactician in the country. I hope we get to agree on the terms of the deal—I really see that happening”, he added.The two parties have been at odds over the value and length of Sunguti’s contract.The Kenyan’s decision comes in the wake of newly introduced mid-season transfers scheduled for next month.Sunguti at one time nursed a desire to play in Europe.ends
