By Emmanuel MulondoFort portal municipality mayor Edson Asaba Ruyonga has accused the municipal council technocrats of fighting him.Addressing a rally at the Public Library on Saturday, Ruyonga said the technocrats were fighting changes he is instituting to improve the council work.Ruyonga said he had questioned some of the public works, which had been done in a shoddy way. He singled out repairs on Ruhandika street which cost the council sh42m but had developed potholes within two months. Some of the technocrats who talked to The New Vision denied the accusations. “The problem is that the Mayor wanted to hijack tender board work and town clerk Dennis Mugarra resisted,” one of them said.He said it was wrong for the mayor to address the public about the issue.Present at the rally was Kabarole woman MP Beatrice Kiraso.Ends
