Heal Old Wounds, Kasese Urged

Non-governmental organisations in Kasese district have been urged to spread the message of peace and reconciliation to the grassroots, reports John Nzinjah.“I wish to take this opportunity to commission you to take the lead in conveying the message of peace and reconciliation to the people deep in the villages because you live with them more than us in the offices,” Resident District Commissioner Musa Ecweru said recently.He was closing a two-day symposium for members of Kasese District Development Network (KADDE-NET) at Kasese Catholic Diocese Social Services Hall in Kasese town.Ecweru told the over 200 delegates that the district had for long been divided along political lines. He urged the participants to work together for peace and reconciliation.He promised to contact both local and international donors to help the NGOs and community-based organisations to supplement government efforts.
