DAR ES SALAAM — Museveni on Saturday rebuffed a U.N. report on the plunder of natural resources in the war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo, saying there was nothing of value in the country to exploit.

DAR ES SALAAM — Museveni on Saturday rebuffed a U.N. report on the plunder of natural resources in the war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo, saying there was nothing of value in the country to exploit.The new report circulated by the United Nations on Friday said armies, militia and crime syndicates were wreaking havoc on Congo villagers in their unabated quest to plunder the central African nation’s mineral wealth.Museven, however, said the DRC’s wealth was exaggerated and that there were only limited resources of diamonds, gold, copper and other precious minerals. “We are told we are in Congo because of riches. Where is the richness? Museveni asked.Ends
