Another 45 have been charged in a Police court in Kibuli, with drunkenness contrary to the Police Statute.Meanwhile, eight of the officers taken for the drills fled before the end and they will face the music. The drills closed yesterday. In another development, 241 officers who were declared unfit after medical examinations, have been sent back to their units and asked to write to the Police headquarters in two weeks time, giving reasons why they should be retained in the Force. Their fate hangs in balance till the Police council sits.Acting commissioner of Police in charge human resource development, Chris Opio, while closing the drills yesterday, said only 80 passed the drills and will undergo an attitude rehabilitation course.“I want you people to be very careful. There is no room for drunkards, likewise for non-performers in the Police Force,” Opio said.Ends
