UGANDA and Zambia have been selected as the first countries in Africa to benefit from Africare World Space HIV/AIDS Initiative, reports Ebenezer Bifubyeka. The head of Africare World Space HIV/AIDS Initiative in Washington DC, Dr. Clarance Hall, said this at Itojo playground in Ntungamo district on Friday. Clarance commended Ugandans especially President Yoweri Museveni for his open campaign against HIV/AIDs, an effort he said forced Africare, a private non-profit organisation, to join and support the campaign. “Uganda has been ranked the first county in the world to fight and successfully reduce HIV/AIDS infection rates from 32% to 6% among Ugandan,” Clarance said. The country Africare representative, Abdalla Meftah, said it’s a concern for the entire globe to wipe out HIV/AIDs that has killed the cream of Africans including doctors, legislators and freedom fighters.
