By Kiganda SsonkoCRAZY talk has spread all over Makerere university campus. Students now refer to pork as Nadduli’s meat. This talk is most especially heard on weekends and evening hours when students have retired from reading and suggest to their friends to go out for Nadduli’s loved animal.“Oh! My friend or dear, lets go out to Wandegeya for Nadduli’s meat. I feel I’m in strong need of it,” a student was heard saying. Another student was also heard saying: “Mwana tugende tweweemu ku kanyama ka Nadduli, mpulira nkayoya nnyo,” literally meaning, “My dear, lets go for Nadduli’s pork, I feel I want it very much.”Al-hajji Abudul Nadduli, the LC5 chairman for Luweero district has been very instrumental in supporting the restocking programme in the district which calls for giving cattle or piglets to the locals for rearing and for generating income in the long run.Since he started supporting this programme, Nadduli has faced wide- spread criticism from fellow Muslims who say that it is religiously bad for a whole Hajji to promote the rearing of pigs. This is therefore why most campusers named the enjoyable pork after Nadduli, which is a sign of their appreciation to his support for the enhancement of stocking pig in Uganda.
