TENDO Mbazzi’s 44 runs spurred favourites Wanderers to a five-wicket victory over Destroyers CC in a thrilling Castle Lager match at Kyambogo oval yesterday.

Star player Kenneth Kamyuka (17) was caught and bowled by David Meya (3/21) who also dismissed Fred Mutebi (13) and Richard Okia (00).Kamyuka led the fightback, restricting Wandereres to 31/3 in five overs.A 78 run partnership by John Lubia (27) and Mbazzi (44) was enough to destroy the Destroyers. They won with 26.4 overs to spare.At Lugogo, a sizzling century from Baig Akbar (100) propelled Tornado to a massive 224 victory over hapless Nile in what turned a thorough thumping.The opening batsman made a record partnership of 173 runs with Joel Olweny (84). An unbeaten 66 from Nehal Bibodi saw them notch 307/4.Ends
