By Frederick KiwanukaLUWEERO census committee chairman Simon Mpiira has urged census supervisors and enumerators to use simple language in the national census exercise.Mpiira, who is also Luweero chief administrative officer, said this while launching an induction course for 42 census supervisors. He advised them to be ready to fight taboos that some communities attach to the exercise as well as the misinterpretation by detractors.“If you use simple language, you will achieve excellent results,” Mpiira said at a function held at Luweroo’s New Lydirenes Hotel, on Monday.he told the supervisors to strive to achieve 100% success, because any slight mistake would adversely affect policy making and service delivery to the district. He said, “Any mistake that you make will not be corrected tomorrow and this will affect Luweero for 10 years until the next census.”He cited an example of Soroti district, saying they were getting little services compared to the population, because 53 per cent of the people missed the last census because of insecurity during the census exercise. He urged the supervisors to choose enumerators with a vision and a team that will achieve success.Present at the induction course were the district census officer, Paul Galabuzi and his assistant Mukasa Tebuseeke. All the supervisors have academic A’level qualifications or above.
