Kampala Diocese To Fight HIV/AIDS

KAMPALA Diocese and World Vision Uganda are intending to team up and initiate a special working relationship to control new HIV infections, Archbishop Livingstone Nkoyooyo has said.

By Joyce Namutebi KAMPALA Diocese and World Vision Uganda are intending to team up and initiate a special working relationship to control new HIV infections, Archbishop Livingstone Nkoyooyo has said. In building this partnership the two bodies are convinced that they can minimise the impact of the AIDS scourge, Nkoyooyo said in a statement issued on Saturday. Under this arrangement the two bodies want to help the sick, and support orphans and vulnerable children in areas served by the diocese, he said World Vision Uganda pledged to offer technical assistance to the diocese in the areas of HIV/AIDS situational analysis survey, concept paper formulation and HIV/AIDS strategic plan development and resource mobilisation. The NGO will also offer technical assistance in HIV/AIDS programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation and documenting and sharing the lessons learnt. Ends
