The World Population Foundation has launched a new reproductive health programme in 50 school.
This was revealed on Thursday at Bativa hotel, Wandegeya in Kampala.
“The programme will equip teenagers with sufficient information on reproductive health and their future and place them in a better position to make decisions,” Jo Reinders, the technical assistant for the youth programmes in the World Population Foundation, said.
Reinders said the programme has three components of disseminating information on reproductive health.
He said the internet, art and design and sensitisation seminars were some of the components to be used.
Reinders said teenagers would use these avenues to write out their experiences and share them with fellow teenagers around the globe.
“The programme has so far been successful in South Africa. We hope it will be positive in Uganda because the pre-tests of the project have so far been successful,” Reinders said.
