EXAMINATION malpractices were detected in the Kasese district Ordinary and Advanced Level mock examinations, whose results were released on Friday.
The education officer, Douglas Katamba, said 18 candidates had their results cancelled.
Katamba said this while releasing the results which he said depicted a low academic standard in the district.
Out of the 1,463 candidates who sat for the Uganda Certificate of Education examinations, 18 candidates excelled in division one and 271 in division two.
Several schools in the district did not participate in the mock examinations.
Katamba challenged the teachers in the district to improve the academic standards.
He expressed bitterness over the poor performance in the mock examinations. Ends
