The National Political Commissar, Dr Crispus Kiyonga, has warned Movement and multiparty supporters against intimidating each other in areas where either form the minority.
He said opposition members should be persuaded and won over through persuasion.
Kiyonga was on Saturday speaking at victory celebrations for Maruzi MP who is also state minister for tourism, wildlife and antiquities Jovino Akaki Ayumu.
Akaki assured constituents that he would serve all people equally. Ends
