Enforce laws

DISTRICT environmental officers(DEO) have received basic training in the enforcement of environmental laws in their areas. The training was carried out by the Wetlands Inspection Division(WID). During the training, Francis Ogwal, one of the wetlands monitoring officers, said people in villages encroach on the wetlands because they do not know that it is a crime. Ogwal says with their new skills, the DEOs would help people to carry out environmental impact assessments. He said WID would also train police officers about environmental laws.
