KAMPALA — The Uganda Law Society human rights committee chairman, Deo Nkunzingoma, was on Saturday torn between appeasing information state minister Basoga Nsadhu and restraining The Monitor’s Andrew Mwenda from storming out of a Hotel Africana discussion.

Nsadhu went beyond his allotted time, ignoring pleas to end. One hour into extra time, he said, “You want me to stop here? No, I am sorry I will not. You invite me to discuss the matters and then you tell me to keep quiet. I am just going to continue,” he said.

Mwenda, who was scheduled to speak, stormed out. He returned after Nsadhu had finished.
