‘Stop kidnap of children’
GULU — DANIDA has appealed to LRA rebels to end abduction of children in northern Uganda. Anthony Barne, DANIDA programme adviser, urged the rebels to come out of the bush in response to the amnesty law so that peace returns to the Acholi sub-region. He was launching the sh300m DANIDA grant.

MUBS donate to Acholi
GULU — Makerere University Business School students from Rukungiri district recently donated 11 boxes of second-hand clothes to the internally displaced people of northern Uganda. The donation was received by Acholi Parliamentary Group chairman Nobert Mao.

K’jong attend adult classes
MOROTO — About 20,000 Karimojong have joined Functional Adult Literacy classes since the year began. Mary Agan, the community development officer, said there were 14,500 women and 4,939 men. She was addressing district leaders at Moroto catholic parish hall.
