INFORMATION state minister Basoga Nsadhu has re-affirmed the Government’s stand on outlawing of Ebimeza (open talk-shows) saying they are illegal even within the premises of the broadcasters.

Edris Kisambira writes that at the weekly press briefing last Thursday, Nsadhu stopped Radios One, Akaboozi, Simba and CBS open debates at different bars in the city.
Despite the stop, however, CBS and Simba held the shows within their premises last Saturday and Sunday.
Nsadhu said, “If shows were held within the premises as you claim, it is also illegal. It is illegal and these people know it. The law only allows them to operate within their studios. I will send my team to find out more about what you are saying,” Nsadhu said.
He was on Monday receiving equipment and two pick-up trucks worth sh131m from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). UNFPA’s deputy representative, Aisha Camara, said the equipment would help in the implementation of two government projects. Ends
