BUGANDA Road Court Magistrate Lydia Mugambe recently issued a warrant of arrest for the headmaster of Progressive Secondary School, Amooti Kaahawa, for failing to pay National Social Security Fund (NSSF) contributions, reports Jude Etyang. Mugambe issued the warrant after the NSSF prosecutor, Francis Ninye, said Kaahawa had failed to respond to criminal summons. Ninye said Kaahawa had failed to remit contributions of 30 workers at his school to NSSF from September 1999 to October last year. Meanwhile, a 56-year-old soldier, Tibanyendera Ariseri, was remanded in Luzira Prison over the theft of 12 pairs of Dura battery cells from Shoprite Supermarket on Ben Kiwanuka street. The prosecutor said Tibayendera stole the cells worth sh87,500 on January 2. Tibanyendera pleaded not guilty to the charges. Ends.
