Guinness, Pilsner and Bell to share out VEK

BY PETER EKAROT AND DANIEL SAIRE IF the VEK's sponsorship deal with Uganda Breweries Limited is upheld, Guinness, Pilsner and Bell will be the flagship brands for Villa, Express and KCC respectively, The New Vision has learnt. UBL is reported to have offered sh300m for the three giants and plans to sign a six-year deal to exclusively promote them and its blue print is ready, only waiting clearance from FUFA. A UBL source said the company is in line with what FUFA wants. "There was fear that UBL would use one brand for the three. It's not that way, UBL have borrowed the Opel style, the sponsors of Bayern Munich in Germany and AC Milan in Italy. It would be wrong to have all the three clubs putting on Bell Lager logos," said the source. Ends
