Makerere, Get Real On Security!

SIR- Of recent there has been much talk about Makerere. Many people had the impression that any boy or girl who did qualify for the University was doomed to be a failure in life. But with several murders and rapes in the recent past, the impression has changed. "You even feel insecure inside your own room," one resident commented. It is time for whoever is responsible for campus security to wake up. The future of this country rests on a sound education and Makerere students deserve maximum security. Let us rule out the excuse of being careless. Makerere students deserve security 24 hours. If we can have security in night clubs like Silk and Ange Noir, why not at Makerere? Let us get real!
