By Josephine Maseruka THE Lubaga South Member of Parliament, Ken Lukyamuzi, has proposed 14 federal states for Uganda. He also attacked those opposed to the Obugabe in Ankole, saying "some of them have no established origin." Addressing a women's conference on the federal system in Bulange, Mengo recently, Lukyamuzi said Ugandans should not be misled into believing that people in Ankole do not want Obugabe. "I was invited to Ankole and I delivered a paper on the federal system. My audience told other speakers to be silent so I could continue educating them on the system," he said. He suggested to over 30 women from various parts of Buganda, the formation of states like Karamoja, Acholi, Bukedi, Busoga, Sebei, Bugishu, Ankole and Buganda. Others are Lango, West Nile, Bunyoro, Rwenzori, Kigezi and Teso. Lukyamuzi said Uganda needs a hybrid federal system where those who do not want to have a federal state can amicably co-exist with those under it. The Mengo Minister for Local Government, Kamala Kannamwangi, said most of the Kabaka's 9,000 square miles were in Ngoma. Of these, he said President Yoweri Museveni had 20sq miles, while some had gone to Major Bwende and others who had not paid anything to the Kabaka. Ends
