THE president of the East African Media Institute, Mr. Wafula Oguttu, yesterday criticised the head of Col. Kizza Besigye's task force, Mr. Louis Otika, for urging their supporters to stop reading the New Vision.

Kizza Besigye's task force, Mr. Louis Otika, for urging their supporters to stop reading the New Vision. Oguttu said this was stupidity. "You tell people not to buy the paper. if you get to power, would you tell them to buy it again?" Oguttu said. He was presenting a paper on "Responsible Journalism and Ethics in Elections Time," to journalists attending an election reporting seminar at Uganda Management Institute. He said if Otika was the minister responsible for information, he would have banned the paper. Otika recently called upon Besigye supporters to stop buying The New Vision. Ends
