By Vision Reporter PRESIDENTIAL candidate Col. Kizza Besigye has written to over 200 members of the business community, assuring them of a conducive business atmosphere if he is elected. "It is important that I personally address this short message to you, thanking you and your company for your contribution to the economy of Uganda in recent years," the letters said. A copy of the letter was shown to the press yesterday by Besigye task force member, Dr. Christopher Kibuuka. He did not disclose which companies the letters were sent to. "You may have realised that over the last three years, there has been a decline in all sectors of our economy," Besigye said, citing falling Shilling rates, high interest rates and the collapse of several banks. "In your businesses, you must be already feeling the burden of the low purchasing power and lack of disposable income that the population is experiencing due to squandering, corruption and sheer mismanagement of State affairs," he wrote.
