A new radio station, Voice of Africa, has gone on air with some of their majorly Islamic programme broadcasts.

By Davis Weddi A new radio station, Voice of Africa, has gone on air with some of their majorly Islamic programme broadcasts. One of the people behind the Voice of Africa on FM 92.3, Haji Haruna Sengooba, told The New Vision on Tuesday that the station airs everything, not just Islamic programmes. The Voice of Africa's management said they will cover news as it comes and also conduct educational programmes on topical issues including politics and society. Sengooba said the radio so far covers Kampala, Masaka, Luwero, Kalangala and Jinja. He said they will not advertise alcoholic drinks and condoms. "We shall only take adverts for soft drinks like Pepsi, Coca-Cola and others," Sengooba said. Sengoba said the radio will encouraging abstinence from sex. Ends
