By Samson Opus CASH-STRAPPED Uganda Amateur Boxing Federation (UABF) is seeking sh18m to enter the forthcoming Africa Boxing Championship in Mauritius. UABF secretary Issa Odongkara yesterday said the amount would cover both training and travel expenses for the nine-man team. Odongkara appealed for sponsorship from the business community for the May showpiece . "The situation is bad, I just pray for good Samaritans to come to our aid. I have written to National Council of Sports," said the UABF official. Nine Ugandan boxers qualified for the Mauritius tourney during the recent Zone Five Championship held in Kampala. Odongkara said, the ABC championship is crucial exposure for Uganda Bombers as they prepare for the Commonwealth Games. Meanwhile, Lukanga maintained a slim lead with two points over Najja who have 14 in the national boxing league on Sunday at Kibuli. Results: Featherweight-G. Aliga (Scorpions) bt S.
