Sh70m for Makindye barracks

KAMPALA––The City Council Education department has set a side sh70m for the building of a modern school in Makindye barracks. Sarah Nkonge, the Secretary for Education said the school is targeting 2,000 soldiers' children in the barracks. She observed that there are many soldiers' children who are not attending school despite the Universal Primary Education (UPE). She said a bigger number of children with in the barracks do the work of baby sitting their young brothers and sisters because they lack school fees. Ends
