WINNIE Byanyima, the Mbarara Municipality MP, on Monday said she was ready to work with President Yoweri Museveni if he won the election petition filed by her husband, Col. Kizza Besigye. "I'm prepared to work with President Museveni and to accept that he won the March 12 presidential elections if he wins the petition," Byanyima said. She was speaking at a requiem mass for a former councillor for people with disabilities at the Mbarara Catholic Centre. "I, Byanyima will not sit down and watch things going to the waste and keep quiet. I will stand by the truth," she said. Byanyima said Museveni's government was widely known for its free and fair Parliament. She said although she was called a critic of the Movement, she was the most liked in the Movement because many errors had been identified through her voice and had been put right. "The press can quote me if they want. I am the one who has helped the Movement to be what it is today," Byanyima said. She said she wanted five more years in parliament to complete the programmes she initiated. "Those saying I should not contest again are misled. I am informing you now that I am standing to contest for the Mbarara Municipality seat," she said. She warned those interested in the seat to prepare for defeat. Ends
