By Livingstone Ssempijja A DISABLED student at Makerere University has offered himself to contest for the guild president for the year 2001-2002. Micheal Miiro, 24, a second year adult and community education student, told The New Vision on Sunday that he had won support especially of the female students. He said he became a polio victim at the age of four and his parents told him that they tried to save him but in vain. "That is why my legs were crippled beyond medical repair," Miiro said. He said he was sure of his capacity to serve as the guild president. "I contend that disability is not inability and I urge my fellow students not to focus on my physical structure since my mental capacity is trustable," he said. Ends
