Uganda Tennis Association has summoned 22 players to start preparations for the Davis Cup set for next month in Nicosia, Cyprus.

By Philip Corry Uganda Tennis Association has summoned 22 players to start preparations for the Davis Cup set for next month in Nicosia, Cyprus. The provisional side was named yesterday by UTA technical team of John Kasule, John Oduke and John Sewamala. The team will be involved in a mini tournament at Lugogo tennis centre that starts on April 27 to April 29 after which they will select the final side that will represent the nation at the all-male tournament. The provisional side includes Eric Ofoyuru, John Oyet, Chris Mutebi, Shaban and Mustapha Lwanga, Charles Yokwe, Chris Bagaala, Renatto Sebbi, Godfrey Uzunga. Uganda, will be playing in the Euro/Africa Zone IV and will play in Group B with Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Azerbaijan and Gabon, while Group A comprises of Sudan, Algeria, Rwanda, hosts Cyprus and Ethiopia.
