Kabale primary schools have launched part of the sh70m nutrition project of rabbit rearing.
The project, implemented by Africa 2000 network and funded by the Italian government through the ministry of health, was launched by the Kabale district secretary for health and social services, Mrs. Flavia Kanagizi.
Speaking at the launching on Friday at Ndorwa primary school, Kanagizi urged pupils and parents to eat rabbits for its protein content which she said was among the most nutritious.
One hundred and thirty pairs of male and female newzealand breed rabbits were handed over to 65 pupils of 10 schools as the starting stock.
