Traffic flow on Jinja Road was brought to a halt for almost 20 minutes by more than 40 vehicles which escorted the Kampala Woman MP, Margaret Zziwa, for nomination, write Catherine Kigozi and Richard Mutumba. Zziwa arrived at city hall clad in a pink gomasi and accompanied by a large crowd chanting praises to her. She was nominated at noon by Alice Muwanga and Ali Prada before the District Returning Officer, Gordon Mwesigye. The jubilant supporters who were barred from entering the council premises waited at the gate. Mwesigye was furious when some of Zziwa's supporters over powered the gate keeper to enter.
