FORTY-four people have been laid off in a major review exercise in personnel at Kasese Cobalt Company Limited in Kasese district.

The general manager, KCCL Phillip Dunstan, on Friday said the exercise was intended to make the company's business more cost effective. "We have to make the business sustainable," Dunstan told The New Vision in Kasese. But the mines and metal workers' union protested at the lay offs. Ends
