A TEACHER at Jinja Secondary School has won this year's East African regional environmental award.

Johnson Mutalya (pictured right) recently told The New Vision that the award was presented to him during the 11th annual conference of the East African Environmental Network in Nairobi. Mutalya said he was recognised because of his "exemplary contribution to environment conservation. He said his role in teaching environmental conservation in schools, training of trainers in environmental education, practical demonstrations like nursery development, was outstanding. "I will continue working hard for conservation of the environment,'' he said. Ends
