Mutanda said sh2.8b was allocated to the education department due to the poor education standards and performance in the district. He said sh1b was allocated to technical services, sh1b to management, sh66m to gender issues and sh426m to health. Mutanda said renovations of the office buildings and provision of basic equipment was going on. He said two computers and a double cabin pick-up truck had been procured to speed up the district work. Mutanda said the scrapping of cost-sharing had affected revenue from the health units and also caused some staff to be laid off. Ends
